a bit about me:
My name is Emilia Haro, and I am seeking an elementary teaching position for the 2025 - 2026 school year. I am a dedicated and passionate educator with a strong commitment to student growth and success. In Dec. 2024 I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a focus on elementary education from San Diego State University. I also hold a California teaching credential and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree at SDSU.
During my college years, I had the opportunity to work closely with children in the Chula Vista area. I was a tutor at TreeTop Tutoring Center in Eastlake and volunteered at Discovery Charter School. My student teaching took place at McMillin Elementary in Otay Ranch, where I gained valuable experience working in a second-grade classroom. I also student taught at Loma Verde in Chula Vista and gained experience in a 5th/6th grade combo class! These experiences solidified my love for teaching and furthered my desire to make a lasting impact in education.
I was born and raised in South San Diego, specifically in the border community of San Ysidro. As a first-generation Mexican-American and the first in my family to graduate from college, I take great pride in my heritage and in setting an example for younger generations. I am deeply family-oriented and value community, which is why I hope to continue teaching in San Diego. However, I am open to opportunities in new cities as well.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like more information. My email is emily.haro1@gmail.com.
I look forward to connecting and beginning my journey as an educator!
